Kyrgyzstan Summer Exchange

For many students, a summer in Kyrgyzstan is a significant journey in broadening their understanding of the world we live in.

In this month-long program North American students gain an appreciation for the Muslim world through service and learning.  Service as they teach English or computer to high school students from diverse ethnic backgrounds, and learning as they develop genuine friendships with the youth and their families, and open themselves to the hospitality of the Central Asian people.

“The Kyrgyzstan project has genuinely changed my perspective on life…[it] has inspired a passion for cross-cultural exchange of knowledge.” Justin, UC Riverside ‘08

“Kyrgyzstan was transformational. I have unforgettable memories with the students and people I have met.”
Matt, Northeastern U. ‘08

“In Kyrgyzstan I made the biggest impact not by teaching English or giving away presents, but by investing time in my students and their lives.” Valerie, UCLA ‘07
